Deepa Mahadevan, a shining star in the field of Bharatnatyam, has been living this art form for over 20 years. She commenced her dance journey at the tender age of 5 when she started learning the esoteric Dandayuda Pani Pillai style of Bharatanatyam.
            Her guru Smt Usha Srinivasan, a senior disciple of Padmashri K N Dandayudapani Pillai is an acclaimed danseuse herself.
She has perfected the tantalizing art of Facial Expressions from the doyen of Abhinaya, Padma Bushan Smt Kalanidhi Narayanan. She has also pruned her dance style through the astute tutelage of Guru Madurai R Muralidaran.
Deepa has been able to imbibe the best from the collective expertise of her Gurus. Deepa’s dance depicts perfection in executing both the emotional and pure dance aspects of Bharatanatyam.
Deepa is the Founder/Director of Thiruchitrambalam Dance Company based in Fremont, California. She also jointly runs the Aahaaryam School of Dance based in South India.
